Your cottage will be ready from 4pm on your day of arrival, please let us know your expected time of arrival a couple of days before hand, so we can be there to meet you and show you to your cottage. On the day of Departure, you are asked to leave the cottage by 10am at the latest.
Smoking is not allowed in the cottages. But we do have ashtrays outside!
The price for any break is inclusive of All electricity, Heating. Beds will be made up for your arrival and a bath sheet and hand towel are provided for each guest.
Up to two dogs are welcome in each cottage, all we ask is that your pet is kept under your control at all times, not allowed into the bedrooms and never left unaccompanied in the cottage. There are numerous places to walk and exercise your dog, both on the farm and on the local beaches, and forest walks as well. Outside the cottages, dogs must be kept on leads at all times. There is a charge of £25 per dog per stay.
Yes, we do have Cot and High chairs available for use in the cottages, please let us know on your booking form and we can arrange for these to be placed in the cottage for you on arrival. (subject to availability) also please note that bed linen is not provided for cots – please bring your own.
The nearest supermarkets are in Dalbeattie which is about 1.5 miles away. Dalbeattie is a small town, but has three supermarkets, butchers, bakers, bank and post office. The supermarkets are open from 8am till 10pm. 5 Miles away in the nearby town of Castle Douglas is Tesco and a large Co-operative. Home delivery from Asda and Tesco are available to the cottages, if you are arranging a delivery for your holiday then please make sure your scheduled delivery time is after time of your arrival for delivery to be accepted. We can not be responsible for accepting deliveries on your behalf due to terms and conditions from supermarkets.
We are well situated to explore various beaches along our coastline. The nearest beach is Rockcliffe, about 1.5 miles away, which has wonderful rock formations, perfect for finding all the little creatures in the fabulous rock pools, when the tide has just gone out. Sandyhills beach is a vast expanse of sand, and is about 5 miles away.
We are situated about 1.5 miles from Kippford, the yachting village which has two hotels, that have bars, and serve food and drink all day. Dalbeattie which is also about 1.5 miles away also has several hotels, pubs and restaurants.
Meiklebob farm is a working livestock farm and we will gladly take you on a tour of the farm to see the larger farm animals in closer proximity. We also have lots of smaller friendly animals that you can see on a walk around the farm, cheeky little creatures that are always inquisitive to see what’s going on.
If you like fishing then by all means you are welcome to fish the river that surrounds our farm, and see what you can catch. That’s if our friendly family of otters don’t get there first.
For those who like walking, you are free to roam our fields and meadows and see the exciting variety of birds, flowers, and mammals that live here also. Please remember the Scottish Countryside access code at all times!
